The Most heraldic activities of The Augustan Society, Inc., are under the direction of the '''Heraldry Committee'''. The Committee Chairman is , styled [["Justiciar General]] and ", is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the [[President]]. The Justiciar General appoints all other members of the Committee, subject to the [[Policies|Policy on Committee Membership]], with the [[President]] and [[Headquarters Staff]] as ex officio members, and the Chairman of other committees in the Heraldry Department.

* [[Heraldic Artists]] (volunteer artists, as non-voting members only)* Such additional members at large Members as the Chairman may see fit (which may include paid or non-member volunteer Heraldic Artists)* The [[President]] and [[Headquarters Staff]] , ex officio
At present, the following programs are [[Study Groups]] or programs of the [[Communications|Communications Department]]. While it is recommended that their coordinators and editors be appointed to the Heraldry Committee, it is not required.

==Heraldry Committee Duties==
* To oversee the heraldic operations of the Society;<ul>* <li>To create and grant [[Society Arms and Logos|Arms and Logos]] to the various [[Sub-Groups]], Committees, [[Study Groups]], and [[Officers]] of the Society as may find need of them;</li> * <li>To assist members and non-members with the design of armorial achievements, and with registering or obtaining grants from national agencies;</li>* <li>To register arms for members and non-members;</li>* <li>To answer heraldic research questions put to the Society (paid or unpaid, the latter limited to brief or easy questions);</li>* <li>To advise the [[Library]] on the accessions, organization, and deaccessons;</li> * <li>To solicit articles for ''The [[Augustan Omnibus|The Omnibus]]'' on the topic of heraldry;</li> * <li>To provide at least one item per year for ''[[Augustæum]]'';</li>* <li>To submit a report of activities and plans to the [[Board|Board of Directors]] annually and as the Board or [[President]] may request.</li></ul>
