* To oversee the heraldic operations of the Society;
* To create and grant [[Society Arms and Logos|Arms and Logos]] to the various [[Sub-Groups]], Committees, [[Study Groups]], and [[Officers]] of the Society;
* To assist members and non-members with the design and registration of armorial achievements (, and with registration duties passing to the Arms Registration Committee once payment is made)registering or obtaining grants from national agencies;* To register arms for members and non-members;
* To answer heraldic research questions put to the Society (paid or unpaid, the latter limited to brief or easy questions);
* To advise the [[Library]] on the accessions, organization, and deaccessons;
