The [[Registration of Arms Registration]] program of The Augustan Society, Inc., is managed by the [[Arms Registration Heraldry Committee]]. This Committee has need of someone responsible for record keeping and tracking of petitions that none may be neglected. This duty has been assigned to the '''Arms Chancellor'''.
The Arms Chancellor is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the [[Justiciar General]] and as such is a voting member of the Arms Registration [[Heraldry Committee]]. Practical requirements of the job are facility with computer records and email. Maintenance of The procedure by which the AugustanHeraldry YahooGroup is also among the normal Arms Chancellor performs his duties assignedare as yet unwritten, and it is uncertain if this office will be continued, as it was created to address issues resulting from a [[Justiciar General]] who did not have a computer.
