The Assistant Treasurer is elected annually by the [[Board|Board of Directors]] upon the nomination of the [[Treasurer]]. His duties include:
#Acting in the absence of the Treasurer or in the event of his inability or refusal to act;and#and such Such duties as may be assigned to him by the Treasurer or by the Board of Directors.
In practice, specific tasks include:
#Receiving and disbursing funds on behalf of the Society.;
#Preparing such financial reports as the Board may ask of the Treasurer;
#Presenting such reports at meetings of the Board, [[Executive Committee]], or the [[Annual Membership Meeting]], and such [[Sub-Groups|sub-groups]] as may request it;
#Keeping financial records for the Society and its Sub-Groups;
#Maintaining, in cooperation with the [[Assistant Secretary]], the current membership [[Roster|roster]];and
#Tracking the financial contributions of members for the purpose of calculating who may be eligible for election to or promotion within [[Fellowship]] or receipt of [[Awards|service awards]].
