The officers of the [[Order of the Augustan Eagle]], a dependency of The Augustan Society, Inc., include the '''Chief of the Order'''.
According to the [[Rule of the Order]], this officer is at all times normally the [[President]] of the Society, and serves until such time as another President is elected. When the President declines or refuses to serve as Chief, a Chief may be elected by a vote of the members of the Order. All members of the Order in good standing are eligible to be elected.
Statutory duties include:
* Chairing meetings of the [[Eagle Council]];
* Appointing all other officers of the Order, subject to [[Board]] confirmation;
* Inviting qualified Augustans to membership in the Order as he may deem fit(upon consultation with the President, if he is not serving as Chief); and
* Admitting as Honorary Members or Patrons those he may deem fit.
