Most of the chivalric activities of The Augustan Society, Inc., are under the direction of the '''Chivlary Committee'''. It is lead by the [[Chivalry Committee Chairman]], who is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the [[President]]. The Chairman may appoint such other members to the Committee as he sees fit, with the [[President]] and [[Headquarters Staff]] as ex officio members.
It is the responsibility of the Chivalry Committee to:
* Maintain a list of [[Recognized Orders|List of Recognized Chivalric Orders Chivalry]] (and Organizations of a Chivalric Nature]])* Review petition petitions for [[Recognition of Membership and & Rank in Ordersof Chivalry]]* Maintain the list of [[Qualifying Orders of Chivalry Qualifying for SDLKJ]] (Society of Descendants of the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem)
* Support other Committees and Officers of the Society with questions about chivalry
* Recommend books and periodicals on the topic to the [[Librarian]] for acquisition or withdrawal
