One of the principle topics studied by members of The Augustan Society, Inc., is medieval history, and the Crusades form a major part of that history. While there is a [[Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem Study Group]] that focuses on the history of that Kingdom, and a [[Descents from the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem Study Group]] that focuses on descents from those who lived or fought there, the history of the Crusades overall is a distinct topic, and it is appropriate for the Society to include a '''Crusades Study Group''' to study that topic specifically.
Presently inactive, this group may be revived at the request of any interested Member in [[Good Standing]].
The first task of such a revived group would be to create a Charter to define the scope and aim of their studies.
