* Publicizing the existence of and means of joining the SDI;
* Informing members of the activities of the SDI;
* Maintaining the web page on the SDI, which may be expanded in cooperation with the [[Assistant Webmaster for ENS]];
* Soliciting articles on the subjects of Ireland, Irish Kings and High Kings, and descents from Ireland for ''[[Augustan Omnibus|The Augustan Omnibus]]'';
* Advising the [[Librarian]] on the selection of books and other materials on these subjects;
* Serving on the [[Finance Committee]];
* Developing the annual budget for the SDI, in consultation with the Finance Committee; and
* Submitting a report to the Board (via the [[Assistant Secretary]] on the activities of the SDI annually in each July, and at other times when requested.
