The purpose of the '''First Peoples Study Group''' of The Augustan Society, Inc., is to explore the native cultures of the Americas. It is lead by a [[Coordinators|Coordinator]] who is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the [[Dean of Studies]].
In the past, this Study Group was quite active and sponsored the First Peoples collection in the [[Library]], the donation of artifacts and reproductions, and the occasional article for ''The [[Augustan Omnibus|The Augustan Omnibus]]''.
Current projects of this committeeThis group is presently dormant, as reported but may be revived by any interested Member by petition to [[Headquarters Staff]], are: * Drafting a charter for review and approval by the [[Dean of Studies]] and the [[Board]];* Upon approval of the charter, drafting copy for the website; and* Designing a logo in consultation with the [[Heraldry Committee]].
