The duties of the Genealogy Committee Chairman include:
* Establish and maintain standards of proof, with member input, for submitted lineages to our various subgroups that require them;* Assist, when called upon, to evaluate Review the accuracy of lineages submitted for said subgroups; and
* Coordinate projects that fall under the scope of this committee.
<ol>
<li>Receive application</li>
<li>Examine application for sources and whether they meet our requirements <ul> <li>To minimize the workload, it is recommended that lineages be worked from both ends toward the middle. When a defect in data or sources is discovered, stop work from that direction. When defects are found in both directions, return the lineage to the petitioner for improvment.</li> </ul></li>
<li>If so, check sources to verify whether it supports the lineage claim. if not, request better sources from applicant</li>
<li>If data is verified, application is approved</li>
<li>If verifiable data is not listed in original application, or not forthcoming after it is requested, application is denied and applicant advised to try again later with verifiable sources</li>
<li>Obtain a vote of the majority two members of the Genealogy Committee concurring on the adequacy of the lineage, and submit same to the [[Board]] for confirmation</li>
