Duties of the Chairman include:
* Chairing the [[History Committee]], including naming members of the Committee and of sub-committees;
* Soliciting articles for the /''The [[Augustan Omnibus/ ]]'' and books;
* Advising the [[Library ]] on accessions, cataloging, and deaccessions;
* Creating and appointing chairmen for historical programs;
* Working with the [[Dean of Studies ]] to create and support [[Study Groups ]] that touch on history; and
* Having nominal charge of all history activities of the Society.
