The '''History Committee Chairman ''' is nominally in charge of all historical activities of The Augustan Society, Inc. He is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the [[President]].
Duties of the Chairman include:
* Chairing the [[History Committee]], including naming members of the Committee and the Chairmen of sub-committees;* Soliciting material for ''[[Augustan Omnibus|The Augustan Omnibus]]'' and the books program;* Advising the [[Library]] on accessions, cataloging, and deaccessions of historical materials;* Creating historical programs and sub-committees;* Working with the [[Dean of Studies]] to create and support [[Study Groups]] that touch on history; and* Having nominal charge of all history activities of the Society.

* Advising the Library on accessions, cataloging, and deaccessions;----
* Creating and appointing chairmen for historical programs;
