Duties of the Chairman include:
* Chairing the [[History Committee]], including naming members of the Committee and the Chairmen of sub-committees;
* Soliciting material for ''[[Augustan Omnibus|The Augustan Omnibus]]'' and the books program;
* Advising the [[Library]] on accessions, cataloging, and deaccessions of historical materials;
* Creating and appointing chairmen for historical programsand sub-committees;
* Working with the [[Dean of Studies]] to create and support [[Study Groups]] that touch on history; and
* Having nominal charge of all history activities of the Society.
