The procedure for handling a [[Petition for Life Membership]] is:
A Petition for Membership is required. Normally, these are completed by the petitioner and returned either on paper or electronically. In rare cases, [[Headquarters Staff ]] may create a petition when one they feel that is not submittedadvantageous. These are usually not accompanied by payment.
Headquarters Staff will then notify the petitioner of the amount of Life Dues. This is done by multiplying the current annual dues by the petitioner's life expectancy according to the most recent US government Actuarial Life Table, such as <[http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/STATS/table4c6.htmlthis from the Social Security Administration]>. Use whichever gender has the longer life expectancy -- — no bias based on gender is to be employed.
A Life Dues Account may be set up, provided that by submitting an even multiple of the current dues must be paid each year and an amount receiving a corresponding expiration date. When the value of dues beyond the current year is equal to the or greater of one tenth of the than thethen-current life dues and membership, the current annual dues is also deposited. Should a member fail will be converted to make any year's depositLife Membership automatically. Any balance left, the amount on deposit will be converted to a credit. A refund of the balance may be issued after deducting a $4 service fee.
Once all Life Member dues are paid, a new [[Certificates|Certificate of Membership Card]] is issued over the signatures of the [[President]] and [[Certificate of Life MembershipSecretary]] are issued.
Regular Membership will be converted to All Life Membership immediately, with no credit issued for any partial year remainingMembers receive a life subscription to the '''Augustan Omnibus'''.
Each contact from a Life Member should be recorded in the [[Roster]]. Annually, the last contact date for Life Members should be reviewed, and those without contact for three years or more should be sent a final notice by mail. Those who become do not respond within 30 days will be removed from the active roster. Inactive Life Members after 2014 who again contact Headquarters will also receive a life subscription be returned to ''The active status without formal petition or fees. Those who became Life Members before 2015 did not receive a life subscription to the Augustan Omnibus. They may purchase same for an amount equal to the current annual subscription rate multiplied by the Actuarial Life Table, as above.
