'''Membership ''' in The Augustan Society, Inc., may be in any one of three four classes: [[Regular Membership]], [[Life Membership]], [[Sponsored Membership]], or [[Honorary Membership]].
Procedures for handling each class are outlined on the pages linked above.
Note that Membership is not the same as being a subscriber. While a subscription is included with most classes of membership, they are commonly coincident, it not identical. It is quite possible to have non-member subscribers.
[[Membership Privileges]] are set by the [[Eagle Council]] and apply only to Members in [[Good Standing]].
Rank within the Society is determined by the [[Warrant of Precedence]] which is largely set by the [[Eagle Council]], though sections applying to the Senior [[Sub-Groups]] are set by those organizations.
[[Sponsored Membership]] is offered to Fellows who are temporarily or permanently unable to afford their dues. They may Who will be sponsored, is also subject to policies and budgets in force from time to time, but it has not yet been found necessary to deny sponsorship to any Fellow.
[[Resignation]] of membership must be in writing (email is acceptable), and is effective immediately upon receipt at Headquarters even if a later date is specified.
