The work of some Committees of The Augustan Society, Inc., being complex and needing substantial technical expertise, it has not always proven possible to adequately staff such Committees from the membership. At one time, Committee Chairmen have been were authorized to name non-member consultants to their Committees to provide such expertise.
The Board has now banned the appointment of non-member consultants. Those who were members of Committees at the time the ban took effect are grandfathered in, and may continue to serve for the tenure of the Chairman.
