The Augustan Society, Inc., has the study of philatelics (stamps) within its purview, and it is delegated to the Philatelic Study Group to conduct that study. In the natural course of events, this study has included compiling a substantial collection of stamps.
These stamps are used both for the study thereof, and photographs of same maybe may be used to illustrate Society publications. To this end, a focused collection that display images of monarchs, seals, heraldry, and perhaps other topics should rightly be held, even while this Study Group is inactive.
The collection is a combination of several individual’s donated collections, plus some deliberate work to collect topical stamps. These need to be organized into the following collections, with surplus material sold.
