He is tasked to:
# Serve as chief executive officer; and subject to the control of the Board shall supervise and control the affairs of the corporation.
# Chair meetings of the Membership.
# Chair meetings of the Board in the absence of the [[Chairman]].
# Execute deeds, mortgages, bonds, contracts, checks, and other instruments, though the responsibility for these may be assigned to others with the consent of the Board. Normally Often these powers are delegated to the a [[ConsulsBusiness Agent]].
# Appoint the Chairmen of all Committees (but not committee members or sub-committee chairmen).
# Serve as an ex officio member of all standing committees of the corporation.
# Serve as Chief of the Order of the [[Order of the Augustan Eagle]].
# Perform all other duties incident to his office and such other duties as may be required by law or by these the [[By-Laws]], or which may be prescribed from time to time by the Board of Directors.
Except for Chief of the Order (of the Augustan Eagle), it is frowned upon for the President to hold other offices such as a committee chairman or vice-chairman, dean, or study group coordinator. Membership in such groups is acceptable, but great care must be taken not to offend or overrule the sitting chairman while doing so.
