The chief executive officer of The Augustan Society, Inc., is the President. He is elected annuall annually by and from the Board of Directors. His membership on the Board is his only qualification.
He is tasked to:

Normally these These powers for routine activities are normally delegated to members of the Staff.
#
Appoint the Chairmen (or Deans) of all Committees (but not committee members or , sub-committee chairmen, or Study Group Coordinators).
#
Serve as an ex officio member of all standing committees of the corporationsave the Nominating Committee.
#
Serve as Chief of the Order of the Order of the Augustan Eagle.
#
Cast tie-breaking votes in elections for Directors or By-Law Amendments submitted to the membership. Membership in such groups is acceptable, but great care must be taken not to offend or overrule the sitting chairman while doing so. The President, in his capacity as the official face of the Society, may designate special liaisons to other groups. In the past, such have been appointed for: * American College of Heraldry* International Association of Amateur Heralds* Medal and Order Society of America* Royal Heraldry Society of Canada
