'''Regular Membership ''' in The Augustan Society, Inc., may be entered into in two ways:
# * New members# * Returning members
The procedure for handling each is slightly different.
In both cases a [[Petition for Membership]] is required. Normally, these are completed by the petitioner and returned either on paper or electronically. In rare cases, [[Headquarters Staff ]] may create a petition when one is not submitted.
Once the petition and payment are in hand at HQHeadquarters, the procedure is:
# Check the [[Membership Book]] to see if the petition is a former member. If so, refer to the procedure under [[Return to Membership]].
# Enter the petitioner's name in the Membership Book and assign a [[Membership Number]].
# Create a [[Secretary's Welcome]] letter from the [[Secretary]] (presently signed electronically).
# Create a [[Membership Card]], signed by a Consulmember of Headquarters Staff.# Create a [[Certificate of Membership]], presently signed electronically by the President and Secretary(presently done electronically), and affix the Corporate Seal.# Create a [[Consuls' Welcome]] memo from the [[Consuls]], if that office still exists; else create a Welcome Memo and Checklist.
# Mail the above four items, plus the current [[Augustæum]] and the current [[Augustan Omnibus]] to the new member.
# Notify the [[Custodian of Insignia]] to send a [[Member Pin]] to the new member.
# Enter the new member's data into the [[Roster]].
# Send an email to the [[Directors]] informing them of the new member, including the text of their petition.
# After two weeks, send a summary of their interests to the list of [[Committee Chairmen]].
