As The Augustan Society, Inc., publishes ''The [[Augustan Society Roll of Arms|The Augustan Society Roll of Arms]]'' and ''The [[Rose Roll of Arms|The Rose Roll of Arms]]'', there needs to exist the office of '''Rolls Editor'''. He is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the [[Editor-in-Chief]]. In future, it may prove worthwhile to attach this office to the [[Books Editor]] instead.
Duties of the Rolls Editor are to edit:
* New volumes of ''Augustan Society Roll of Arms|The [[Augustan Society Roll of Arms]]'';* Reprints of out-of-print volumes of ''The Augustan Society Roll of Arms''(primarily those which need editing or colorizing);* Editions of ''The [[Rose Roll of Arms]]'';
and possibly others as may be developed.
The [[Board] or Editor-in-Chief may issue priorities for which arms are to be given priority for publication. When choices need be made within the boundaries of those given priorities, he has final say.
He will work with the [[Production Editor]] to create the files needed to print the ''Rolls''. He will not be responsible for printing, binding, marketing, or distribution, though he is expected to support those functions.
