The chart is to consist of four columns with one row for each generation listed:
1. <ol><li>Numbers for each generation, with the oldest generation being "1".</li>
2. <li>The name of the progenitor or descendant, along with birth, marriage, and death dates and locations. Christening or infant baptism may substitute for birth and burial for death dates if those are not available.</li>
3. <li>The name of the spouse of the progenitor or descendant, along with birth and death dates and locations as above.</li>
4. <li>Numeric references to the sources used to document the data in each generation.</li></ol>
While it is intended that the numeric references be sequential numbers relating to the Source table, deviations from this are acceptable so long as the numbers remain brief.
