State of the Society

In order that the [[Board]] and Membership of The Augustan Society, Inc., remain appraised of the activities of the [[Consuls]], and of their opinions of how the Society is doing and where attention is needed, it has been customary for the Consuls to deliver a "State of the Society" address at the [[Annual Membership Meeting]] or the meeting of the [[Board|Board of Directors]] immediately following.
Copies of those addresses are occasionally distributed to the entire Board or Membership at the direction of the Board. Some years, the address is used as an occasion for a confidential update to the Board; access to these is restricted; members contact [[Headquarters]] for a copy.
