State of the Society

In order that the Board and Membership of The Augustan Society, Inc., remain appraised of the activities of the Consuls, and of their opinion of how the Society is doing and where attention is needed, it has been customary for the Consuls to deliver a State of the Society address at the Annual Meeting or the meeting of the Board of Directors immediately following.

Copies of those addresses are occasionally distributed to the entire Board or Membership at the direction of the Board. Some years, the address is used as an occasion for a confidential update to the Board; access to these is restricted; members may contact Headquarters for a copy.

The addresses we have been able to locate to date are here:

With the office of Consul being terminated at the end of 2017, that year's State of the Society address will be the last.

Should the need for such be felt, the President or Board could request such reports from a member of the Headquarters Staff. It should be noted that the President or Board will have to make such a request in each year. One hopes it will be done in sufficient time for the report to be prepared.
