Changes

The Augustan Society, Inc., covers the field of [[Heraldry]]. This field is rather broad, and national traditions vary substantially in laws, rules, customs, and language. Thus it is considered prudent to name a number of '''Vice-Justiciars''', each an expert in one national heraldic tradition.

These officers are styled "“Vice-Justiciar for American Heraldry", ” ..."“Germanic Heraldry", ” etc. They are appointed by the [[Justiciar General]] and serve at his pleasure. There is no limit to the number of Vice-Justiciars that may be appointed, save that only and more than one shall may be appointed for each heraldic jurisdiction. While these additional offerciers should properly be termed “Assistant Vice-Justiciars,” it is understood that this may not be politically wise in some situations.

<li>Consulting with members , registrants, and potential registrants on the design of new arms when they express a preference for their jurisdiction (or when they reside in said jurisdiction and express no preference).</li> <li>Advising members and others on the proper procedure (and cost) for government registration or matriculation in their jurisdiction, for those jurisdictions with an active government agency.</li> <li>Providing translations of blazons from their subject language into English (if not English already). Note that this includes translations of blazons already registered.</li> <li>Serving as a member of the [[Arms Registration Heraldry Committee]] and voting on each petition for registration considered.</li> 

One would hope that each would pen an essay suitable for ''The [[Augustan Omnibus|The Augustan Omnibus]]'' on the heraldic traditions of their jurisdiction, and perhaps occasional updates on heraldic events in their jurisdiction suitable for ''[[August&aelig;um]]''.
