My vision for the nobiliary activities of The Augustan Society, Inc., include:

Royalty & Nobility Committee

The Royalty & Nobility Committee is composed of the Royalty & Nobility Chairman, the members of other committees assigned to the Royalty & Nobility Department, such additional members as the Chairman sees fit, and the President and Consuls as ex officio members.

The Chairman is named by the President and serves at his pleasure. The members are named by the Chairman, and serve at his pleasure.

All activities of the Royalty & Nobility Department fall under the control of this Committee unless the Board or Chairman has created another Committee and charged them with responsibility.

Recognition of fontes honorum in support of chivalric and nobiliary recognitions

Proposal: The Society should maintain and publish the standards by which to judge fontes honorum to determine if they should be recognized by the Society.

Proposal: The Society should maintain and publish a list of those fontes honorum that have been deliberately recognized by the Society.

Proposal: The above task accomplished, the Society should maintain and publish a list of all current fontes honorum worthy of recognition by the Society.

Recognition of Titled Nobility

Proposal: The Society should maintain and publish the standards by which to judge if a claimed title of nobility is worthy of Society recognition, including such titles as may attach thereunto.

Proposal: The Society should maintain and publish a list of those individuals whose titles of nobility have been recognized by the Society.

Recognition of personal nobility, not including titles or postnominals

Proposal: The Society should maintain and publish the standards by which to judge if a claim to personal (untitled) nobility is worthy of Society recognition, including such honorifics and postnominals as may attach thereunto.

Proposal: The Society should maintain and publish a list of those individuals whose personal (untitled) nobility have been recognized by the Society.

Recognition of gentility

This is a very difficult issue, as it requires the Society to define "gentlman"; something this Committee has expressed great fear of attempting. It may prove an impossible task.

Proposal: The Society should maintain and publish the standards by which to judge if an individual possesses gentility worthy of Society recognition.

Proposal: The Society should maintain and publish a list of those individuals whose gentility has been recognized by the Society.
