[[Order of the Augustan Eagle|The Order of the Augustan Eagle(OAE)]], a dependency of The Augustan Society, Inc., is governed by a Council of the Order, commonly called the '''Eagle Council'''.
The members of the Eagle Council are:
*<ol type="I"><li>The [[President]] of the Society, who serves as [[Chief of the Order]];</li>*<li>The [[Eagle Grand Marshal]];</li>*<li>The [[Eagle Grand Chancellor]];</li>*<li>The [[Eagle Vice-Chancellor]];</li>*<li>The [[Eagle Secretary General]]; and</li>*<li>The [[Eagle Receiver General]].</li></ol>
Ex officio members of the Eagle Council are:
*The [[Eagle Assistant Secretary GeneralChancellor]], normally the Society's [[Assistant Secretary]] and a [[Consuls|Consul]];*The [[Eagle Assistant Receiver General]], normally the Society's [[Assistant Treasurer]] and a [[Consuls|Consul]]; and*The [[Eagle Administrator]], contractually one of the [[ConsulsHeadquarters Staff]].
The Eagle Council is charged to meet at least annually at the call of the Chief of the Order. Meetings are chaired by the Chief, and in his absence the gavel falls to other members in the order given above. Recently, Should the Chief has called the be unable to solicit enough Council members to meet quarterlyobtain a quorum after direct advertisement to all members of the Order, he may elect to adopt on-man-rule upon reporting his recruitment efforts and decision to the Board. It is not required that the Chief be that man, he may delegate this task to any member of the Order.
A quorum of the Eagle Council is three (not counting ex officio members). Upon the failure of a council meeting to obtain a quorum, items identified as urgent in the agenda will be decided upon by the [[Directors]] present at the next regular meeting of the [[Board]].
The duties of the Eagle Council include:
*<ul><li>Making recommendations to the [[Board]] on changes to the Society's [[Mission Statement]] and [[Vision Statement]];</li>*<li>Setting Society membership privileges[[Membership Privileges]];</li>*<li>Setting Society member discounts;</li>*<li>Setting the Order [[Warrant of Precedence ]] for the Societyand the OAE (but not the [[Noble Company of the Rose]]);</li> *<li>Settling disputes between members in matters of honor, where both parties agree to accept the ruling of the Council (Note: This duty may be delegated to an uninvolved member or members of the Council, or if none are available, to an uninvolved member or members of the OAE.);</li>*<li>Establishing the specific duties of the component offices; and</li> *<li>Such other duties as may be delegated to them by the [[Board]].</li></ul>
Primary among such other duties at present is the charge to maintain the [[Five-Year Plan]].
