The heraldic activities of The Augustan Society, Inc., include maintaining good relations with other private arms agencies, especially those in the US. We also need to check these registries before we register arms to someone with a prior registration. Thus a list of recognized private arms agencies is needed.
The following list has been recommended by the Justiciar General. It has not been reviewed by the Heraldry Committee nor has it been approved by the Board, both of which should be done before it is used for a basis of action.
His recommended list of Private Arms Agencies is:
- The American College of Heraldry
- The American Heraldry Society
- The Armorial Register - International Register of Arms
- The New England Historic Genealogical Society Committee on Heraldry
- Society for Creative Anacronism
In time, it is hoped that this list can be fleshed out with pricing and other useful data.
