Genealogy is one of the primary subjects studied by members of The Augustan Society, Inc. While most of the Society's focus is on the period before AD 1700, it's not possible to construct lineage from individuals in that period to the present without more contemporary genealogy. One sub-field of particular interest to US genealogists involves the first permanent European settlers in America. Genealogy is one of the primary subjects studied by members of The Augustan Society, Inc. While most of the Society's focus is on the period before AD 1700, it's not possible to construct lineage from individuals in that period to the present without more recent genealogy. One sub-field of particular interest to US genealogists involves the first permanent European settlers in America. Thus it is appropriate for the Society to include a Plymouth Colony Genealogy Study Group.

Presently inactive, this group has at times published their own magazine, The Plymouth Colony Genealogist. It is also a natural adjunct to the Family of Augustans Study Group.

The group may be revived at the request of any interested Member. The first task of such a revived group would be to create a Charter to define the scope of their studies.
