Procedures for lineage approval:

- Examine application for sources and whether they meet our requirements
- To minimize the workload, it is recommended that lineages be worked from both ends toward the middle. When a defect in data or sources is discovered, stop work from that direction. When defects are found in both directions, return the lineage to the petitioner for improvment.

- If verifiable data is not listed in original application, or not forthcoming after it is requested, application is suspended and applicant advised to reapply with verifiable sources
- Obtain a vote of two members of the Genealogy Committee concurring on the adequacy of the lineage, and submit same to the Board for confirmation
