One of the Study Groups of The Augustan Society, Inc., is the Photograph Collection Study Group. This group differs from most in that it focuses on the history of the Society and its members. It is felt important that this data be captured while it is still possible to do so.

The purpose of this group is to review the photograph collection and to the extent possible, identify the individuals, locations, and dates depicted. The Society has over 1.5 cubic feet of unattributed photographs, many showing members and former members. There is felt to be some urgency in their identification, as the members who might know the individuals and places shown grow fewer with the passage of time.

A Coordniator has been named who is familiar with Society history in this period, so there is every expectation that progress can be made.
