Chairman

The Chairman of The Augustan Society, Inc., is an officer elected annually by and from the Board of Directors. His duties include:

• Chairing meetings of the Board; and
• Such other duties as may be assigned by the Board.

This office is frequently used as a "past president" to help provide continuity and assist a new President. This is not required.

There have been times in Society history when this office was strictly honorary, but this is now discouraged by the much smaller size of the Board.

This office may be left vacant (or an incumbent removed) at the discretion of the Board.
