*Acronyms composed of initials shall omit periods &mdash; thus USA, FAS, PhD
*Endnotes are referenced by numerals within square brackets in text &mdash; [1], not <sup>1</sup>
*Endnotes are listed by numerals followed by a closing square bracket &mdash; 1], not [1]
