The Society of Descendants of Ireland (SDI), a dependency of The Augustan Society, Inc., is lead by a Dean appointed by and serving at the pleasure of the President. While it is greatly preferred that the Dean be a member of SDI, it is only required that he be a Member of The Augustan Society.
The Dean of the SDI is responsible for:
* Establishing and recommending amendments to the Charter of the SDI, for confirmation by the Board;
* Serving on the Finance Committee;
* Developing the annual budget for the SDI, in consultation with the Finance Committee; and
* Submitting a report to the Board (via the Assistant Secretary on the activities of the SDI annually in July, and at other times when requested.
General responsibilities for Deans are described on the page on Committee Chairmen.
