The Augustan Society, Inc., has the study of medals and decorations within its purview, and it is thus appropriate to have a Medals & Decorations Study Group. In the natural course of events, this study has included compiling a small collection of medals and other decorations.
These medals and decorations are used both for the study thereof, and photographs or rubbings of same maybe used to illustrate, Society publications. To this end, a small collection should rightly be held, even while this Study Group is inactive, and despite the elimination of the Society's museum.
At present, it is not clear where or how large this collection might be. Those identified to date fit into a single box, the collection is presently being stored in the Equipment Room.
Books on the topic are to be shelved in the library.
