<li>Chair meetings of the Board in the absence of the [[Chairman]].</li>
<li>Execute deeds, mortgages, bonds, contracts, checks, and other instruments, though the responsibility for these may be assigned to others with the consent of the Board. These powers for routine activities are occasionally normally delegated to a Business Agent members of the [[Headquarters Staff]] by vote of the Board.</li>
<li>Appoint the Chairmen (or Deans) of all Committees (but not committee members or , sub-committee chairmen, or [[Study Group]] Coordinators).</li>
<li>Serve as an ex officio member of all standing committees of the corporation save the [[Nominating Committee]].</li>
Except for Chief of the Order (of the Augustan Eagle), it is frowned upon for the President to hold other offices such as a [[Committee Chairmen|Committee Chairman]], [[Committee Chairmen|Dean]], or [[Committee Chairmen|Study Group Coordinator]]. Membership in such groups is acceptable, but great care must be taken not to offend or overrule the sitting chairman while doing so.
The President, in his capacity as the official face of the Society, may designate special liaisons to other groups. To date, such have been appointed for:
