The Augustan Society, Inc., needs heraldic (or quasi-heraldic) symbology, both for identification of the Society as a whole, and for some of its offices and subdivisions. The task of creating and registering Society Arms and Logos is assigned to the Heraldry Committee.

To provide some consistency and proportionality for Society arms and logos, the following hierarchy is established:

  1. Society: Shield, crest, motto, supporters, and compartment.
    1. The Augustan Society, Inc.
      1. Society arms — registered; full achievement including supporters and motto
      2. Society shield — registered; from the full achievement
      3. Society badge — registered; the rectangular version
      4. Society lapel pin
      5. Society rosette
    2. Fellowship: Oval pins to be worn on the medal of membership ribbon or on a lapel
