The officers of the Order of the Augustan Eagle, a dependency of The Augustan Society, Inc., include the Chief of the Order.

According to the Rule of the Order, this officer is at all times the President of the Society, and serves until such time as another President is elected.

Statutory duties include:

  • Chairing meetings of the Eagle Council;
  • Appointing all other officers of the Order, subject to Board confirmation;
  • Inviting qualified Augustans to membership in the Order as he may deem fit; and
  • Admitting as Honorary Members or Patrons those he may deem fit.

The Grand Chancellor having been delegated the responsibilities of administration of the Order, and the Grand Marshal having been delegated the responsibility to arrange meetings, it would seem the Chief of the Order will have few other duties beyond oversight.
