The officers of the Noble Company of the Rose, a dependency of The Augustan Society, Inc., include a Lieutenant Magister Rosae.

According to the Rule of the Company, this officer is appointed by the Magister Rosae, confirmed by the Board, and serves at the pleasure of the former.

Duties of the Lieutenant Magister Rosae are as follows:

  • To preside at meetings of the Noble Company in the absence or incapacity of the Magister Rosae;
  • To succeed to the office of Magister Rosae when the incumbent leaves office before his successor is elected;
  • To call, at need, a special meeting of the Rose Council to consider removing the Magister Rose from membership and office for "conduct contrary to the interests of the Noble Company and/or injurious to its reputation; and
  • To perform such other functions and tasks as the Magister Rosae may request.
