One of the principle topics studied by members of The Augustan Society, Inc., is medieval history, and the Crusades form a major part of that history. While there is a Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem Study Group that focuses on the history of that Kingdom, and a Descents from the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem Study Group that focuses on descents from those who lived or fought there, the history of the Crusades overall is a distinct topic, and it is appropriate for the Society to include a Crusades Study Group to study that topic specifically.
This group is presently dormant, but may be revived by any interested Member by petition to the Dean of Studies.
The first task of such a revived group would be to create a Charter to define the scope and aim of their studies.
