Among the Sub-Groups of The Augustan Society, Inc., are several Lineage Groups, then names and order of precedence of which are:
- The Society of Descendants of the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem
- The Society of Descendants of Ireland
- The Society of Descendants of Scotland
- The Society of Descendants of the Conquest
These groups share several common features:
- Dues are life dues, and the same amount applies no matter how many classes of membership are petitioned at once.
- Joining in additional classes at a later date incurs an entry fee one half that of initial membership.
- Benefits are limited to a certificate of membership, and such insignia as may be produced.
- Presently approved insignia are a lapel pin of the badge.
- Each group has a badge in the form of an inescutcheon, with suitable design.
- Each group has arms in the form of the shield of The Augustan Society with the badge as an inescutcheon; no crest, helm, or mantling.
- It has been proposed that each may display the design of their badge with a chief of The Augustan Society as a gonfalon with seven points, but this has not yet been implemented.
Among the changes over the years are:
- Members may be inducted by staff once the prerequisites are confirmed; Board election is no longer required.
- Membership in The Augustan Society is no longer a pre-requisite.
- Postnominals are no longer awarded or recognized.
- Some groups have breast plates in stock; these may be sold to members who are also members-in-good-standing of The Augustan Society while supplies last.
