Postnominals
Given that The Augustan Society, Inc., deals with many situations where postnominal initials are of value, and as queries about same are not infrequently received, it is appropriate for the Society to develop, maintain, and publish a list of postnominals.
This list will be maintained by the Assistant Webmaster who will call on the Chivalry Committee to provide advice on which initials are apply to various honors, and which honors are implied by various postnominals. As needed, the Chivalry Committee will also support Headquarters Staff on questions of precedence between postnominals (primarily, the order in which they should be listed for a given individual).
The list of postnominals is presently online here. It includes all postnominals used, published, or recognized at any point in the Society's history, with appropriate indication of those not presently recognized. A disclaimer will also accompany the list, further disavowing any Society accreditation of the postnominals or groups listed.
