Sub-Groups

The Augustan Society, Inc., has established a number of sub-groups. These are wholly-owned subsidiaries, and fall under the corporate umbrella. As a result, all are subject to the control and direction of the Board of Directors.

• Order of the Augustan Eagle
• Noble Company of the Rose

Four of the sub-groups are Lineage Societies:

• Society of Descendants of the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem
• Society of Descendants of Ireland
• Society of Descendants of Scotland
• Society of Descendants of the Conquest

Three Society sub-groups have been discontinued or renamed:

• Hereditary Order of Armigerous Augustans — disbanded
• Order of Descendants of Ireland — renamed Society of Descendants of Ireland
• Order of Descendants of Scotland — renamed Society of Descendants of Scotland
• Order of the Conqueror — combined into the Society of Descendants of the Conquest
• Order of the Conqueror's Companions — combined into the Society of Descendants of the Conquest

There are other organizations that have been associated (rightly or not) with the Society:

• Association of Knights Bachelor — independent. Note that this is not the same as the Royal Association of Knights Bachelor, also independent
• Heraldry Society of the USA — independent, but deeded to the Society who publishes back issues of their newsletter
• International Chivalric Institute — independent, but deeded to the Society who publishes back issues of their newsletter
• The Octavian Society — independent, but deeded to the Society who publishes back issues of their journal, JAMS, presently inactive
