Chivalry Committee

Most of the chivalric activities of The Augustan Society, Inc., are under the direction of the Chivlary Committee. It is lead by the Chivalry Committee Chairman, who is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the President. The Chairman may appoint such other members to the Committee as he sees fit, subject to the Policy on Committee Membership, with the President and Headquarters Staff as ex officio members.

It is the responsibility of the Chivalry Committee to:

• Maintain a list of Recognized Orders of Chivalry (and Organizations of a Chivalric Nature)
• Review petition for Recognized Membership and Rank in Orders
• Maintain the list of Qualifying Orders for SDLKJ (Society of Descendants of the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem)
• Support other Committees and Officers of the Society with questions about chivalry
• Recommend books and periodicals on the topic to the Librarian for acquisition or withdrawal
• Create such sub-committees as may be needed to more expeditiously attend to these responsibilities
