History Committee Chairman

The History Committee Chairman is nominally in charge of all historical activities of The Augustan Society, Inc. He is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the President.

Duties of the Chairman include:

  • Chairing the History Committee, including naming members of the Committee and of sub-committees;
  • Soliciting material for The Augustan Omnibus and the books program;
  • Advising the Library on accessions, cataloging, and deaccessions of historical materials;
  • Creating and appointing chairmen for historical programs;
  • Working with the Dean of Studies to create and support Study Groups that touch on history; and
  • Having nominal charge of all history activities of the Society.
