Policies

Policies of the Society are of several types and sources:
- Board Policies — set and amended by the Board;
- Committee Policies — set and amended by each Committee, subject to confirmation by the Board;
- Sub-Group Policies — set and amended by each Sub-Group; and
- Headquarters Policies — set and amended by Headquarters Staff, but applicable only to topics not addressed by others.
Policies are not Procedures. The latter are set by Headquarters Staff and by each Committee and Sub-Group as needed. They may be overruled by Board action, and it is customary to inform the Board of their adoption and significant amendments. Procedures are listed under the individual committees or sub-groups they apply to, and no effort has (yet) been made to create a consolidated list of them.
