At presentAs public discourse is increasingly taking place online, these and particularly in various social media venues, it is appropriate that we have an officer who focuses on this topic. The [[Social Media Chairman]] is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the [[Editor-in-Chief]]. His duties are limited to determine which venues deserve a public Society presence, and to solicit Moderators for each. At present, these include: * The [[Forum]] on the Society's main website;* A [[Facebook]] page, ;* A [[Linked-In]] pages that presently exists as only a placeholder;* The [[AugustanBoard YahooGroup ]] for the discussion of Board issues with [[BoardDirectors]], [[Headquarters Staff]], and another select Committee Chairmen as members;* The [[AugustanHeraldry YahooGroup]] for digitizing discussion of [[Heraldry Committee]] issues and photo identificationfile transfers; and* The [[AugustanConvert YahooGroup]] for dissemination of files to those involved in [[Back Issue Digitizing]] and the [[Photograph Collection Study Group]]. These YahooGroups are of questionable utility and dubious reliability. It may prove prudent to move these discussion to either the Forum or to new services installed on our virtual server.
