Lieutenant Magister Rosae

The officers of the Noble Company of the Rose, a dependency of The Augustan Society, Inc., include a Lieutenant Magister Rosae.

According to the Rule of the Company, this officer is appointed by the Magister Rosae, confirmed by the Board, and serves at the pleasure of the former.

Statutory duties include:

• Service on the Council of the Noble Company

Presumed duties include:

• Serving as Magister Rosae when the MR is absent or incapacitated
• Succeeding to the office of Magister Rosae when the incumbent leaves office before his successor is elected
• Calling at need a special meeting of the Council to consider removing the Magister Rose from membership and office for "conduct contrary to the interests of the Noble Company and/or injurious to its reputation".
