Assistant Curator for Chapel Holdings
The Superintendent of the Chapel, an officer of the Noble Company of the Rose, is nominally in charge of the furnishings of the Chapel of the Rose, he will often need the assistance of an Assistant Curator for Chapel Holdings both now, and after the Museum of The Augustan Society, Inc., is closed.
The Assistant Curator for Chapel Holdings is presently appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the Museum Curator, though one hopes he will consult with the Superintendent of the Chapel. After the Museum closes and the office of Museum Curator is terminated, he will be appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the Superintendent.
The duties of the Assistant Curator for Chapel Holdings is responsible for segregating items from the museum collection that are properly associated with the Chapel, and in taking charge of packing and storing such items until such time as the Chapel resumes existence. In doing so, he will coordinate with the Museum Curator and other Assistant Curators to identify likely objects, and he will consult with the Superintendent on which to retain and which to return to the Museum Curator for sale or disposal.
When a Chapel is created, the Assistant Curator for Chapel Holdings will retrieve the material from storage to the Chapel, and will arrange them as decor, display, or practical use as directed by the Superintendent. It is expected that some will not be needed at all times, and he will be responsible for arranging the packing and storage of these items in a convenient place, preferably within the Chapel.
