The Germanic Genealogist published 38 issues between 1974 and 1996, inclusive. They were 8½×11", variously staple-bound or included in the perfect-bound Augustan Society Omnibus, and ranged from 12 to 72 pages, with some joint issues being published in groups of four. All are available from the Augustan Society Online Store.

At times, it was sponsored and edited by the Germanic Research Committee, now the Germanic Genealogy Study Group. Subject material is now carried in The Augustan Omnibus.
